I-40 westbound blocked by crash

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- All lanes of westbound I-40 were blocked Friday afternoon between Exit 295 (Gorman St) and Exit 293 (US-1) because of a crash.

Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed an overturned Jeep Cherokee and a pickup truck that had been hauling kitchen appliances with heavy damage.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. Officials began reopening lanes and traffic started moving again just after 3:30.

Police said the injuries were minor.
