GARNER (WTVD) -- A hazardous material team was called to an accident on Interstate 40 Wednesday morning after an open top tanker truck carrying animal parts crashed near Garner.

The accident happened around 9:45 a.m. along eastbound I-40 at exit 306 for US-70.

Authorities closed the left bound lane to traffic as they cleaned what they called "chicken guts" from the area.

After the accident, drivers were reportedly fish-tailing in the debris.

It is unclear how the crash happened, but it appeared the truck collided with a van.

Details surrounding the incident have not been released, including if anyone was injured.
