Smartphones hurt posture, mood, researchers say

There may be a new reason to put down your smartphones.

Researchers say they are hurting our posture and our moods.

According a New Zealand physiotherapist, technology is transforming how we hold ourselves.

They call it "i-Hunch."

Our head averages about 10 to 12 pounds.

Experts say when we bend our necks forward 60 degrees to use our phones, the stress on the neck increases to 60 pounds.

And for some reason, people who slouch like this also tend to be depressed.

Experts suggest keeping your head up and shoulders back when looking at your phone, even if that means holding it at eye level.
