WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Update: The gas leak appears to be under control. Officials said late Thursday that a contractor digging in the area cut a 4-inch line. The intersection is open, though repair work continues.

A natural gas leak in Morrisville slowed rush-hour traffic Thursday evening.

The intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Cary Parkway was shut down outside of the Park West Village complex. Just before 7:30 p.m., video showed traffic was moving slowly through the intersection.

Morrisville officials said there have been no evacuations.

Authorities have not said what caused the leak or when it will be repaired.
