Armed man robs Fayetteville gold, diamond dealer

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville Police are looking for a man who robbed the Gold & Diamond Service Center at 106 Highland Ave. on Thursday.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery about 3:30 p.m. The investigation showed that the suspect had what appears to be a sawed-off shotgun or a rifle. The robber pointed the gun at an employee and demanded money.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money and ran to a neighboring parking lot, where he got in a single-cab pickup, described as silver or tan, late model truck, possibly a Dodge.

The suspect was last seen driving down Highland Avenue and crossing Arsenal Avenue.

The man was described as white, between 6-2 and 6-4, with a thin build. He wearing a navy-blue hooded jacket and light-colored blue jeans with dark blue spots on the rear of the jeans.
