'Heavyset' armed robber holds up Raleigh bank

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are searching for an armed robber who struck the Peoples Bank at 3023 Capital Blvd. on Tuesday.

It happened about 10:20 a.m., when the man entered, displayed a weapon and demanded money from a teller. After the employee complied, the suspect left and was last seen on foot heading north.

The suspect is described as a heavyset, white man in his 30s to 40s who stands about 6 feet tall. He had black, curly shoulder-length hair and a mustache, and he was wearing glasses, a gray, hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and a black knit hat.
