3rd man arrested in connection to shooting of 2 men on Capital Blvd
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police have arrested three men in connection with a shooting that injured two men in the 4000 block of Capital Boulevard on Friday.
Tyquann Lamar Talley, 17, and Carlos Dshon Wright, 18 were taken into custody Friday.
A third man, Freddy Alonso Garcia, was also arrested in connection to the shooting.
Garcia, a victim in the shooting, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Warrants allege Garcia assaulted Talley with a handgun.
Police said Wright is the one who pulled the trigger, but Talley assisted him in stealing Garcia's wallet.
Wright is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and possession of firearm by convicted felon. Talley is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The case remains under investigation.
Police said two men were shot about 1:15 p.m. One was shot in the upper torso, one in his extremities. Both men are alert and talking, but police declined to identify them. The victims were taken to WakeMed for treatment.
A gun was found in the same area as the victims, next to Flashbacks Sports Bar & Lounge.
Witnesses say they heard three or four gun shots from the parking lot and saw dozens of people scatter.
"We had just left inside the bank," said Terrill Bell. "It scares me. Because I mean, five or ten minutes."
Other witnesses say after the shooting, police quickly surrounded the doorway of the Boost Mobile store in the same strip mall.
"We see them go by Boost Mobile," said eyewitness Damon Santalucia, "then we see 'em with their guns and their A-Ks and they're positioned like, you know, a tactical position."
"I've only seen something like this in the movies. It was pretty wild. You almost felt like you were on a movie scene. We were thinking about hiding behind a post or something. That was a lot of guns," said eyewitness Stephan Youngblood.
Youngblood said he saw someone come out of the Boost Mobile and get taken into custody.
Police said the shooting was not random and there is no ongoing threat.
Talley and Wright have been transported to the Wake County Detention Center. Talley's bond was set at $400,000. Wright is being held on a $1.1 million bond.
