Widespread land line phone outages reported in Wake County

WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Wake County officials reported widespread land line phone outages across the area Friday afternoon.

A government spokesperson said users may experience difficulty making or receiving phone calls. Any land line phone in the affected area may be impacted, the spokesperson said.

Wake County is working with its telecommunications providers to restore service "as soon as possible," the Wake spokesperson said in a news release.

There is no estimated time of repair.

Citizens are encouraged to try to reach county offices by using a cell phone, email, or an in-person visit.
