Police: Durham man shot in attempted robbery

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A Durham man was shot early Sunday after a suspect tried to rob him and his wife.

Police said the man and his wife came from a night out around 1:45 a.m. to the 1700 block of Chapel Hill Road.

According to police, the couple fled to a nearby building when the suspect attempted to rob them. The man got shot while running from the suspect.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not released any additional information.
