Eleanor Brown, a school teacher, discovered by using her Instagram account she found a market for "clutch" handbags.
She already knew how to sew but then she saw a tutorial that was posted on YouTube and decided to sew one.
She posted the handbag on Instagram and within 3 minutes it had been purchased by one of her followers.
The full-time fourth-grade teacher says it couldn't have come at a more perfect time.
Her husband had just been laid off of work and now he is her business manager and makes the fringe and other accessories for the bags.
Meanwhile, her son, a professional photographer, shoots all her pictures she uses on social media.
Just 5 months into her new business, Brown says it's off to a successful start.
Her tips:
1. Reach out for help from family and friends.
2. Take notes from other successful social media accounts.
3. Create something that you are good at and deliver a quality product.
