Teen reels in whopper catfish at Lake Gaston

LITTLETON, NC (WTVD) -- A Benson, North Carolina 15-year-old holds the new state record for blue catfish after reeling in a monster on Lake Gaston.

The NC Wildlife Resources Commission says Landon Evans landed a 117-pound, 8-ounce blue catfish on June 11 using cut shad as bait.

It's the third time a fish pulled from Lake Gaston has set a state record.
