Two men shot, houses struck by gun fire in Kinston

KINSTON (WTVD) -- Kinston police officers responding to a call of a man shot Monday discovered two people were shot when they arrived at the scene.

Officers went to the 300 block of North Orion Street shortly before 1:30 and found Thomas Ray Washington, 48, with a gunshot wound in his torso. He was taken to Vidant Medical Center.

Officers then learned a second victim, Elton Antonio Brown, 39, was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital in a private car and then taken to Vidant Medical Center. Brown was also struck in the torso.

Police found numerous shell casings in road. Two houses on the block had been struck by gun fire.
