Suspect sought in shooting at Durham apartment complex

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police investigators are trying to find a man wanted in connection with a shooting Wednesday afternoon on Garrett Road.

Rudy Perez, 18, of West Cornwallis Road is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of felony conspiracy.

The shooting was reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Garrett Road.

Police said two groups started fighting and shots were fired.

An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times and taken to the Duke hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
