Man found in Rocky Mount retaining pond identified

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- Rocky Mount police said they found the body of a 51-year-old man Sunday in a retaining pond near an Outback Steakhouse.



On Monday, authorities identified the man as Frederick Evans.



Officers responded around 2:30 p.m. to the pond between Outback and a Residence Inn on Gateway Boulevard.



Police are investigating this as a suspicious death, but said they didn't think there was any foul play.



No other information was released.
