CLAYTON, NC (WTVD) -- Two people were rushed to the hospital after their motorcycle crashed in a Clayton neighborhood Saturday morning.

Town of Clayton Public Information Officer Stacy Beard said a man and a woman on a motorcycle crashed in the 300 block of Black Forest Drive just before 10 a.m.

Officials said neither the man nor the woman was wearing a helmet.

They were both taken to WakeMed with life-threatening injuries.

The 45-year-old man driving the motorcycle lives on Black Forest Drive. His condition is stable, police said.

The 47-year-old woman who was a passenger on the bike is in critical condition at last check. Her home address is Florida, Beard said.

Authorities said speed is a factor and charges are pending.
