Fayetteville Police arrest second suspect in man's death

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of a Fayetteville man in October.

Brenton Victor Nottingham, 31, of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive was arrested late Tuesday evening by Fayetteville Police.

Nottingham is charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy related to the death of Karlos Bembury, 42.

The incident happened Oct. 16 around 5:25 a.m. in the 5000 block of Blayne Drive.

Nottingham is being held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

Another suspect, Keyelle Luavee Hassell, 34, was arrested on Oct. 29.

Hassell, of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive, was charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felonious conspiracy, possession with the intent to sell/deliver cocaine and marijuana.

Responding officers found the victim inside the home with a gunshot wound and an unharmed female victim.

The suspects reportedly broke into the home and fled after the shooting.
