2 charged in Sanford-area shooting

SANFORD, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office says two people are charged in a robbery and shooting that left a man in critical condition early Sunday.

Ronald Monta McLaughlin was airlifted to UNC Hospital after he was found shot on the front porch of a home in the 3000 block of Cornsilk Drive.

Now, deputies have charged 34-year-old Zacharus Jovon Foxx with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping, and robbery. Bond was set at $250,000.

Deputies have also charged 21-year-old Deanna Nakol Seeley with conspiracy to commit first-degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit. She was held under $20,000 secured bond.

McLaughlin is still in critical condition at UNC Hospitals.

Investigators said they believe the incident was not random and McLaughlin and Foxx were acquaintances.
