HILLSBOROUGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A small section of Hillsborough's Riverwalk greenway will have to be closed to the public next week. The section near the South Cameron Street access path will close for construction.

A contractor is scheduled to replace the manhole in that area Sept. 18-22, depending on weather.

The trail's pavement will need to be removed during the construction work, and it will be replaced once work is complete.

Signs will be posted along the greenway, and the work area will be fenced off.

In June, Gold Park and Riverwalk had to be closed after flooding carried debris and sediment onto the park's greenway trails. The Town of Hillsborough says its clean-up efforts cleared the trails in record time.
