21-year-old man killed in Rocky Mount shooting; police investigating

ROCKY MOUNT, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Rocky Mount police are investigating a shooting that took the life of a 21-year-old.

Around 9:45 Friday morning, officers were called to the 800 block of Walnut Street after reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, they found Keenan Marshall Mercer, 21, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Mercer was transported to UNC Nash Hospital where he later died.

Police are investigating this incident as a homicide.
