Raleigh police: Man in wheelchair shot in hip

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- According to police, a man in a wheelchair was shot in the hip in downtown Raleigh Wednesday night.

Officials said the incident happened before 9:30 p.m. on Person Street near Bragg Street.

The man was taken to the hospital; the extent of his injury is unknown.

Police have not released the man's identity or comment on why then shooting occurred.
