Fuquay-Varina police offer reward for information

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A picnic shelter in Fuquay-Varina was set on fire on New Year's Eve, and police are offering a substantial reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

Early in the morning on Dec. 31, a picnic shelter at South Park, located at 900 South Main Street was set on fire. The structure is across the street from the Fuquay-Varina Community Center, and it suffered significant damage.

Fuquay-Varina police encourage anyone with credible information to call Detective Sergeant Cindy Perna at (919) 567-3906. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered to any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire.
