Police: Two men arrested in Fayetteville after multiple shootings

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville detectives arrested two men on Sunday in connection with multiple shootings.

Police said 32-year-old Norman Brown shot 25-year-old Xavier Johnson at the Kangaroo convenience store on Pamalee Drive just before midnight on Saturday.

According to police, Johnson was seated in a car at the fuel pumps when Brown shot him. Johnson was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is listed in serious condition.

Detectives have also identified Brown as a suspect in an earlier shooting. They said it happened along the 1900 block of Wheeling Street around 9:30 p.m.

Police said 24-year-old Tyquan Herndon was out walking when a car pulled up next to him. Authorities said Brown got out of the car and shot Herndon.

Herndon was taken to CFVMC and is listed in fair condition.

Detectives arrested Brown on Sunday. He is charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police also arrested the man Brown was with, 30-year-old Nathaniel Williams, and charged him with accessory after the fact.

Brown and Williams are being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
