Koka Booth Amphitheatre Celebrates 15 Years

Koka Booth Amphitheatre celebrates fifteen years this season and it's hard to remember a time when the award-winning concert shell didn't exist. The vision for the beauty we now enjoy came from former Cary Mayor Koka Booth and friends Ed Woolner and Eric Salomon with Regency Park Corporation while sharing a picnic with their families during a North Carolina Symphony Summerfest show. The symphony had held the popular outdoor series under a tent for fifteen years before the idea was formulated that a permanent home should be built. With Town council and community support the idea morphed and grew in to the beautiful venue and grounds we have today.

This season Cary's Booth Amphitheatre is proud to play host to a solid list of national touring acts that includes Culture Club, Alabama Shakes, Robert Plant, Jim Gaffigan, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Garrison Keillor, Peter Frampton with Cheap Trick, Greg Allman/Doobie Brothers and many more! Artists and patrons alike love the serene setting nestled next to Symphony Lake that offers a unique and intimate concert experience.

It would not be summer at Booth Amphitheatre without the North Carolina Symphony Summerfest Series. This year featuring ten shows the series is a perfect interlude for a summer weekend with friends, a picnic and the glorious music of the NC Symphony.

Looking for a family-friendly event that doesn't break the bank? Movies by Moonlight presented by Wake Med has clearly become one of the seasons staples. For only $5 and kids 12 and under free, the line-up of thirteen movies runs from May-August and offers a perfect evening under the moonlight and stars. For a complete movie listing log on to www.boothamphitheatre.com.

Looking out for our youngest patrons Booth Amphitheatre is pleased to announce a new event this year, Tuesdays for Tots. The first Tuesday of each month, May-August will offer a fun filled morning of story-telling, creative movement and play, stroller strides around Symphony Lake and more. It is also designed to provide opportunities for parents and care-givers to connect with each other and for kids to get outside and have fun!

While it's crazy to think there are people that have never been to the venue we know it to be true. For those that have never walked through the hand-sculpted iron gate here are just a few things you need to know:

Owned by the Town of Cary and managed by SMG Booth Amphitheatre's goal is to provide a patron experience second to none. When we say we have something for everyone we are not kidding and hope you will make it a point to visit at some point during our 15th Season. There is no telling what the future holds but if the last fifteen years are any indicator it is sure to be amazing entertainment...naturally!
