CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A principal in Chatham County lost his hair after making a deal with students.

According to Chatham County Schools officials, Bennett School Principal Dan Barnwell made a deal with 8th grade students prior to End of Grade (EOG) testing that if they made 90 percent proficiency on the Science EOG, he he would buzz cut his hair.

The students did their part, so on Wednesday, he did his.

"I made a deal, and I'm sticking to it," Barnwell said. "I am very proud of our teachers' and students' hard work this year and now it's time to celebrate."

When it came time to shave off his wavy brown hair, the principal sat in front of a gym full of students and let the 8th graders do the clipping.

Bennett is a K-8 school in Bennett, North Carolina, which is about 65 miles west of Raleigh.
