NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WTVD) -- After just one official visit, Jayson Tatum has committed to Duke.

Tatum, ranked second in the ESPN Class of 2016 made his verbal commitment Sunday after finishing a semi-final game in the Peach Jam tournament. He chose Duke over Kentucky, North Carolina and his hometown school, Saint Louis.

"I love the way the program is run and I love the way the academics are set up," Tatum said of Duke. "My relationships with the Duke coaches were the best, and they made me a priority. They did the best job of recruiting me and have been at almost all my games, and that means a lot."

Tatum is a versatile player at 6-foot-8, 190-pounds. He is able to score both from the wing and in the mid-post.

Duke will now focus on two more recruits for 2016, North Carolina natives Harry Giles (ESPN No. 1) and Dennis Smith (ESPN No. 5).
