Man killed in ATV crash near Louisburg

LOUISBURG, NC (WTVD) -- The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says a man reported missing Wednesday has been found dead.

Caleb Allen IV, 52, was last seen leaving his father's home along NC 561 in the area near Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Franklin County on an all-terrain vehicle at about 2:30 p.m.

His body was found by deputies around noon Thursday just off the highway. They said it appears he died after crashing the ATV.

The State Highway Patrol is now handling the investigation into the crash.
