Police: Woman arrested after 1-year-old overdoses

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police said a 1-year-old girl is in the custody of Social Services in Iredell County after she overdosed on prescription drugs.

The baby consumed one hydrocodone pill and seven Klonopin pills taken from a woman's purse, according to police.

WSOC reports that Abishai Cox was charged with felony child abuse and possession of a controlled substance.

The baby was admitted to the Iredell Memorial Hospital for overnight observation.
