Big talent on tap for this year's Dogwood Festival
People in Fayetteville are getting ready for one of the state's biggest spring festivals.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- People in Fayetteville are getting ready for one of the state's biggest spring festivals.

The 33rd annual Dogwood Festival kicks off April 24-26.

Tuesday night, festival organizers announced that county music stars Craig Campbell and "Mo" Pitney will headline the Friday night concert. Heavy rock bands "Quiet Riot" and "Warrant" will play on stage Saturday night.

Organizers are expecting another record setting crowd at this year's festival. Last year, an estimated 250,000 people crowded Festival Park and downtown Fayetteville streets for the weekend spring celebration.

It's become one of the Southeast's top festivals and this year's festival promising to be another blast.

"It's a way to get out of the winter blues," said festival spokesperson Carrie King. "It's the arrival of spring. It's something new. It's free and it's a tradition for many families in Fayetteville."

Organizers say a variety of local and regional bands will play Sunday in the park.

ABC11 is a proud sponsor of this year's Dogwood Festival.
