Deputies search for killer after couple found slain inside home

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Deputies are trying to figure out who killed a couple inside their Claremont home Monday.

Family members told WSOC the couple had a 10-year-old daughter, but that she was not home when her parents' bodies were discovered.

Crime scene tape surrounded the property overnight as authorities looked for clues inside and outside the home on Rest Home Drive.

Investigators said a family member discovered the victims inside the home Monday after not hearing from them over the weekend. Someone forced their way into the home and killed the couple, according to authorities.
