Crews save Johnston County neighborhood from brush fire

CLAYTON, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Quick-thinking firefighters save a Johnston County neighborhood from a brush fire Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the Valley Creek area of Clayton.

The Clayton Fire Department, Forest Service, and EMS all responded.

At one point, the flames threatened several homes. Crews were able to get the fire under control, though.

No injuries were reported.
