Deputies: Man tried to chew off fingerprints to avoid being identified
LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies in Florida say a theft suspect tried to chew off his own fingerprints so he wouldn't be identified.

It all started Thursday with a traffic stop on State Road 82, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. Deputies stopped a 2015 Mercedes that had been reported stolen.
They say the driver, Kenzo Roberts, 20, was using a fake ID, had a handgun, and had three fraudulent credit cards.
Deputies put Roberts in the back on a squad car and once inside, they say he began to try to remove his own fingerprints by chewing them off and rubbing them against the cage. A fingerprint scanner, however, identified Roberts and showed he had two felony warrants in Broward County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Roberts is now facing several charges, including 3 counts of possession of a counterfeit credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of similitude of a driver's license, driving while license suspended, and false identification given to law enforcement.
Deputies also say he was in the U.S. illegally.
