Driver cut from car after slamming into tree in Apex

APEX (WTVD) -- A driver had to be cut from wreckage overnight after a car crashed into a tree in Apex.

It happened around midnight Friday on Lake Pine Drive at Versailles Drive, across from Apex Lake.

Authorities said the driver lost control of their BMW and slammed into a tree.

The roof of the car had to be cut away to get the driver out.

Further details surrounding the accident have not been released. The incident is still under investigation.
