Fayetteville police ID pedestrian killed by truck

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department said a pedestrian was killed by a pickup early Monday morning.

Investigators said it happened about 2:20 a.m. on a service road adjacent to Gillespie Street.

Authorities later identified the victim as Rebecca Lynn Fields, 34, of the 300 block of Person Street.

The driver of the 2002 Chevrolet involved in the incident did stop, and was questioned by police. He has been identified as Gary Michael Harris, 68, of Raeford.

No charges have been filed.

Police said there is no additional information to release.
