Soldier arrested for sexual assault
Edmund Gonzales was arrested and charged with second-degree sexual offense

RAEFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Hoke County Sheriff's Office has arrested a soldier accused of sexual assault.

On August 5, Hoke County detectives got a report about a sexual offense in the 2000 block of June Johnson Road in Raeford.

The victim said she had been assaulted by 25-year-old Sergeant Edmund Gonzales, a soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, according to authorities.

Detectives arrested Gonzales Monday and charged him with second-degree sexual offense.

He was being held at the Hoke County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
