Three hospitalized after mobile home fire
Three of five family members were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after Durham fire.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Four people were taken to the hospital early Monday morning after a fire destroyed their mobile home.

Around 5 a.m., firefighters were called to the home in the 2700 block of Enfield Drive after neighbors spotted the burning residence. When crews arrived, then flames were seen shooting from the dwelling.

A family of five inside the home at the time were able to escape the blaze, but four of them had to be taken to the hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.

It took firefighters almost 30 minutes to extinguish the fire. Authorities said the home had several additions added on to it.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross has been is assisting the family.
