Four injured in Clinton shooting

CLINTON (WTVD) -- Authorities in Clinton are investigating a shooting that injured four men late Tuesday night.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Byrd Street.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found two men - 27-year-old Mario Oates and 26-year-old Lodell Maurice Bolton - suffering from gunshot wounds. The pair were taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Authorities said two other victims - 24-year-old Michael Jamal Oates and 21-year-old Tyreek Da'Sha Melvin - were also injured in the shooting, but were taken to the hospital before officers arrived at the scene. Their conditions are also unknown at this time.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from an altercation between the victims.

The Clinton Police Neighborhood Improvement Team is currently investigating the incident.
