Four more charged in shooting that left Wilson 7-year-old dead

WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Wilson police have arrested four more suspects in the shooting of 7-year-old Kamari Jones.

Detectives have charged 19-year-old Donnell V. Hill, 18-year-old Anfernee D. Knight, 22-year-old Kenneth T. Vinson, and 22-year-old Demetrius D. Spells - all of Wilson - with first-degree murder.

Last week, police announced they charged 24-year-old Montavius S. Davis - of Stantonsburg - with first-degree murder.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. July 23 in the 400 block of Parkview Street.

According to investigators, someone fired multiple bullets into a home, striking the boy. He was rushed to Vidant Medical Center, but he died the next morning.
