Heavy damage reported in Fayetteville apartment fire

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Firefighters said heavy smoke and flames were showing from a first-floor unit of the Cambridge Arms Apartment when they arrived Monday night and the fire was spreading to the floor above.

They were able to contain the blaze, but there is heavy damage to the building on Barcelona Drive.

No injuries were reported and residents were evacuated safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
