KILLEEN, TX -- Preliminary tests for a Fort Hood soldier found dead Tuesday morning have come back negative for Ebola.
According to police, there were no visible signs of trauma.
The soldier, who is 24 years old, had recently returned from Liberia on emergency leave for a death in the family, and was self-monitoring under established guidelines. He had reportedly not been exhibiting signs of Ebola.
A HazMat team responded to the scene and the man's body was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center to be tested for Ebola. A more conclusive test is now being conducted.
