Lightning starts house fire in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Lightning reportedly started a fire at a home in the 8200 block of Kingswood Ct in Raleigh Friday afternoon.

It happened in the Kingsland Woods subdivision off Leesville Road in north Raleigh near Leesville High School.

Two people in the house got out safely.

A neighbor across the street said they heard a lightning strike went outside to look around and saw the house across the street on fire.

They went over and alerted the people in the home.

Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the garage area and the roof above.
