Lightning strike causes house fire in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a house fire started by a lightning strike in the Kings Grant Neighborhood Wednesday night.

It happened on Liberty Lane off Northgate Drive.

When firefighters arrived, the two-story home had heavy smoke coming from the attic and roof. Crews contained the blaze to the attic, but it still had significant damage.

No injuries were reported.
