DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man was arrested after barricading himself inside a home after crashing his car.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office said it happened Sunday in the 600 block of Goodwin Road.

Deputies said they initially responded to a domestic disturbance call but when they arrived they learned a man had been in a car crash.

According to authorities, he left his car and barricaded himself inside the home. Deputies said they assisted the man by removing him from the home because he wasn't able to do so on his own.

He had injuries from the crash as well as self-inflicted injuries, according to authorities, and was taken to a local hospital.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office is investigating the domestic disturbance while the Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
