Man dies after Harnett County shooting

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Harnett County Sheriff's Office says a man has died following a shooting in unincorporated Fuquay-Varina.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday night in the 400 block of Caley Drive just south of the Wake County line.

Emergency workers took 18-year-old Deonta Lamont Ellerbee to WakeMed where he later passed away.

Deputies said they have identified a suspect and the investigation continues.

Ellerbee and the suspect knew each other before the incident.
