Person killed by car in northeastern Wake County
The North Carolina Highway Patrol investigates Friday morning.

ROLESVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was hit by a vehicle and killed in northeastern Wake County around 6:30 a.m. Friday along N.C. Highway 96 between U.S. Highway 401 and N.C. 98.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Troopers said the man was wearing dark clothing and standing in the road when he was hit. Charges will not be filed against the driver.

The dead man was described as Hispanic, but he was not carrying identification. Investigators were working on leads to try and identify him.
