Man shot in the face in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot in the face while in his car.

Authorities said it happened just after 6 p.m. near Proctor Street and Vickers Avenue. When Durham Police arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been shot in the face.

Our crew on the scene said there were multiple bullet holes visible on the side of the car. It is unclear whether the victim was driving the car at the time of the shooting.

Emergency crews took the victim to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police didn't say if there were any immediate suspects or if the shooting was random.
