Missing diver medevaced by USCG dies

SOUTHPORT, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A diver who went missing 36 miles southeast of Masonboro Island on Friday has died, according to WWAY.

The United State Coastal Guard confirmed that the diver was pronounced dead at Dosher Memorial Hospital.

Authorities said that the person who called for help found the man in the water after searching for him.

The Coast Guard medevaced the man and took him to the hospital where he later died.

The identity of the diver has not been released.
