Smithfield mom arrested after kids test positive for meth

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WTVD) -- Misty Michelle Stanley, 21, is facing child abuse charges after authorities said her two children, ages 2 and 3, tested positive for methamphetamines.

She was arrested Monday by the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said deputies were assisting the Department of Social Services in an investigation since Oct. 28.

Stanley was held under a $2,000 bond.
