DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating a murder-suicide Tuesday night that left a woman dead, the shooter dead, and the woman's brother wounded.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Oakland Avenue in the Old West Durham neighborhood.

Authorities identified the woman as 40-year-old Raluca Iosif and the shooter as her ex-boyfriend 40-year-old David Dietrich Holder of Raleigh. The brother, 38-year-old Razvaiya Iosif, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Raluca Iosif's employer - IntraHealth International - released a statement saying her coworkers are devastated by the loss of a dear friend and colleague.

"Raluca has been a cherished IntraHealth colleague and friend to many of us over the past seven years," said Pape Gaye, president and CEO of IntraHealth. "She was full of life and her generosity of spirit was contagious."

Iosif worked as a program developer. IntraHealth will be establishing a memorial fund to honor her memory.

Her wounded brother is visiting from Romania with his wife.

Friends told ABC11 that Iosif, a Romanian-American, was going through a bad breakup. Her brother and sister-in-law were with Iosif outside her home when the incident occurred, according to Iosif's friends.

"This was not a random act, all parties appear to know each other," Durham Police Chief Jose Lopez said. "We have one party at the hospital who I understand at this time is in pretty serious condition being treated."
