NEAR HARTLEY BAY, British Columbia, Canada (WTVD) -- An environmental research group went into action along the coast of British Columbia in Canada when a young killer whale got stranded on some rocks.
The animal apparently was too aggressive going after seals to eat when it got stuck and couldn't swim off.
For eight straight hours, the group kept the orca covered to protect her from the sun and poured water over her to prevent skin damage.
Amazingly, her family pod never left the area and communicated with her until the tide came in and lifted her off the rocks and she was able to rejoin them.
