One charged after man stabbed to death in Edgecombe County

SHARPSBURG, NC (WTVD) -- The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with first-degree murder after a stabbing death in Sharpsburg Tuesday.

Deputies were called to the 200 block of Camland Circle around 5:30 p.m.

They found 36-year-old Tobias Toler dead of a stab wound to the chest.

Investigators said Toler was visiting with 52-year-old Alphonzo Harvey and was asked to leave. When he refused, an altercation resulted and Toler was stabbed.

Harvey allegedly left the scene but was later found and arrested. He was being held without bond.
